Resolutely on the Green Path
Reduction of emissions from transport is possible only with enormous efforts and costs, which means that there is still a long way to go to achieve the goals of the transport transition, which has long since begun. No matter how some changes in the transport paradigm could seem small and insignificant at the moment, especially in Croatia, which is 3-4 years behind global transport trends (as usual), it cannot be stopped. Electric vehicles will certainly play a major role here, but other solutions such as hydrogen should not be overlooked.
At the same time, in addition to road transport, the transport transition also affects maritime transport, while airports are preparing for the obligation to use sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). For all these solutions, it is necessary to use as much as possible funds from European incentives and programs, especially in order to establish the infrastructure for the supply of vehicles, vessels and aircraft with new energy sources as soon as possible.
These were just a few highlights from this year’s Nova era prometa (A New Era in Transport) Conference. This forum on electric and gas vehicles, hydrogen and fuel cells and solutions for sustainable transport development has once again shown the direction in which major changes are taking place not only when it comes to means of transport, but also on thinking about transport as such.
